Pulling from the evidenced-based work of Michelle Garcia Winner, Premier Psychological Services and Dr. Cindy Orrego are launching an 8-week semester of social thinking classes for high functioning children with Asperger's Syndrome, PDD or ADHD.

The course curriculum will cover lessons including:

• Being part of a group and recognizing expectations
• How our whole body and mind help us be part of a group
• Self-awareness and self-monitoring our behavior in a group
• Learning more about observing others
• Figuring out what people mean by what they say
• And So Much MORE!

Our first semester will begin Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. and will run for 8 consecutive Tuesdays. Each 60-minute class will build on the information and skills learned from the prior week instruction. Helpful handouts and home instruction pamphlets will be provided each week for parents.

In order to determine if your child is eligible for these classes, we are now scheduling initial clinical interviews with Dr. Orrego who will assess your child in order to properly place your child with other students of similar age and cognitive ability. If your child is not currently eligible for this group, we will provide you with recommendations which may include individual sessions tailored to your child's needs.

Tuition Costs: The 8-week program fee is $720 to be paid in full prior to the commencement of the classes.
